Hi there. In the Additional Materials section lower down this page you will discover additional materials for use by educators. But first, please note that the CD-ROM accompanying our book How Computers Do Math (ISBN: 0471732788) contains a special Educators folder.

Inside this folder you will find Adobe® Acrobat® PDF files for all of the labs in the book (each lab includes a summary of the exercise, the estimated time to complete the exercise, and step-by-step instructions and illustrations). These files can be printed out, copied, and used as handouts for students.

Furthermore, all of the images used throughout the book (in the chapters, labs, and appendices) are included in this folder in the form of Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations. These images may be used as-is, or they can be employed as the basis to form additional presentations and handouts so long as appropriate credits are given to this tome.

If you create any DIY Calculator-related course materials that you would be willing to share with others (with full credit being given to yourself, of course), please contact us as described on the About/Contact Us page on this site.

Similarly, we would be very interested in talking to you about your students creating additional subroutines and programs to run on the DIY Calculator as discussed on the Subroutines page; and also any DIY Calculator-related applications such as assemblers, compilers, interpreters, profilers, and code coverage utilities (see also the More Tools page).

Last but not least, you may be interested in having your students create a physical version of the DIY Calculator in the form of an ASIC or FPGA (see also the More Cool Stuff page).
